Moncler and Interparfums sign a License Agreement for Fragrances. The launch of the first fragrance line is expected within the first quarter of 2022.


Moncler SpA, the iconic global luxury brand, and Interparfums SA, the creator of prestige perfumes and cosmetics, announce to have signed an exclusive and worldwide license agreement for fragrances which will last until 31 December 2026, with a potential 5-year extension.

Under such agreement, Interparfums SA will create and produce perfumes and fragrance-related products and will distribute them in Moncler monobrand stores as well as selected department stores, specialty stores and duty-free shops.

Remo Ruffini, Chairman and CEO of Moncler SpA said: “Interparfums’ renowned expertise and creativity make it the ideal partner to develop a fragrance that is perfectly aligned with Moncler’s DNA and unique identity. The launch of Moncler’s first fragrance line is consistent with our selective brand extension strategy further enriching the clients’ experience with the brand.”

Philippe Benacin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Interparfums SA, added: “This is a great achievement for us. Moncler is the only luxury brand associated to mountains, nature and constant search for innovation and evolution. Moncler has always stood for uniqueness, authenticity, quality and excellence. Its achievements are absolutely distinctive, and we are certain that its uniqueness will be successfully translated into a fragrance.”

Meanwhile, the group’s revenue in the first quarter 2020 dropped by 18%  to 310.1 million euros ($334.5 million), compared to 378.5 million euros ($408.3 million) in the first quarter of 2019. In a release, Moncler said that while the Asia-Pacific region accounts for around 40% of their global business, it has seen revenues decrease by 23%, far below the group’s average.

Moncler was founded at Monestier-de-Clermont, Grenoble, France, in 1952 and is currently headquartered in Italy. Over the years the brand has combined style with constant technological research assisted by experts in activities linked to the world of the mountain. The Moncler outerwear collections marry the extreme demands of nature with those of city life. In 2003, Remo Ruffini took over the company, of which he is currently Chairman and CEO. Moncler manufactures and directly distributes the clothing and accessories collections under the brand Moncler through its boutiques and in exclusive international department stores and multi-brand locations.


Interparfums SA


Interparfums SA was founded in 1982 and develops, manufactures, and distributes prestige perfumes and cosmetics as the exclusive worldwide licensee for Boucheron, Coach, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Spade, Montblanc, Paul Smith, Repetto, S.T. Dupont and Van Cleef & Arpels. The company is also the owner of Lanvin fragrances and the Maison Rochas. With products sold in over 100 countries worldwide through a selective distribution network, in 2019 Interparfums had consolidated sales of €484 million accompanied by an operating margin of 15% and €200 million in net cash. The Company is listed on Euronext Paris with a market capitalization of €1.5 billion.


Moncler Genius 2020 Project


With 12 different installations, 12 different concepts and 12 different visions to build up the Moncler Genius message of “One House, Different Voices”, In its third edition, Moncler Genius is evolving and exploring new  categories and novel approaches to communicate personal creativity. The project’s concept is driven by experimentation and crosses the lines of conventions. For 2020, the project welcomes JW Anderson with his unique design aesthetic that offers a modern interpretation of masculinity and femininity, through a cross-pollination of menswear and womenswear. Anderson joins the house alongside Sergio Zambon and Veronica Leoni for 2 Moncler 1952, Sandro Mandrino for 3 Moncler Grenoble, Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Matthew Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM, Fragment Hiroshi Fujiwara, Richard Quinn and Poldo Dog Couture. Iconic luggage brand, Rimowa and the electric vehicle brand founded in Copenhagen, Mate.Bike.


Moncler Genius 2020


Moncler Genius 2020 extends its pioneering spirit as an innovator of the outdoors. MATE.BIKE offers a unique take on progressive travel with an electric bike created for the extreme terrain of the mountain and the snow, testing the boundaries of conventional commuting and personal expression.

Below is the launch video of the project’s third edition in Milan. Over 9000 guests immersed themselves in a multi-sensory playground: 12 different installations, 12 different concepts, 12 different visions to build up the Moncler Genius message of “One House, Different Voices”.
